Q4 2023 Performance of Top Carpooling Apps in the UK on Android

As the year 2023 drew to a close, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in the United Kingdom saw varied performance among top contenders on the Android platform. Data from Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users during the fourth quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained its position with consistent downloads, peaking at around 40K in early December. The app's weekly active users also showed an upward trend, starting at 824K and reaching a high of 959K in mid-December before slightly dropping to 839K towards the end of the month.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a moderate fluctuation in downloads, with numbers ranging from approximately 13K to 18K. Weekly active users reflected a similar pattern, with initial figures around 164K, dipping to 137K by the end of December.

The Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver app, aimed at service providers, saw downloads hovering between 10K and 14K. The app's active users started at 81K, saw a peak at 92K mid-quarter, and settled at 90K by the quarter's end.

In contrast, inDrive. Save on city rides showed a download count on the lower end, with numbers just over 2K but reaching up to 3K in the latter part of December. Despite lower download numbers, weekly active users showed growth from approximately 14K to 18K.

Lastly, Careem – rides, food & more demonstrated a steady increase in downloads, starting at around 1.4K and reaching up to 1.8K. The app's active user base also expanded from 3.8K to 4.8K through the quarter.
